A Few Places I Visited

My last week in Japan is slowly coming to a close. It is very sad to be leaving, but the last few days have been super fun!!! On Monday, Satomi and I went to karaoke, and sang our hearts out to a song we both love(In Japanese!) !! Then I went to a barber that my host mom is friends with, and got a free wash and style. The guy who did my hair, the entire time, was telling me how different my hair was in all of these ways. Japanese salons are sososososooooo fun !! (Mostly because I got free tea, and the people were way nicer) Then, On Tuesday my friends(Kippei, Hiroto, and Satomi) and I went to a place called a Spo-Cha. A Spo-Cha is a place kind of like a gymnastics gym, but with more stuff, Like ping-pong, tenis, badminton, and a batting area. We had so much fun and I am going to miss those guys. On Wednesday, Jessica and I wanted to go to a mall in Nishinomiya by ourselves, called Nishinomiya Gardens. It is about two train rides away, each ride only about 2 minutes. We made it there...

What to Expect When Going to School

Good evening everyone! It is currently 9:30 pm and I just got home from dance. We are preparing for the school festival that will be on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday! Going to a Japanese high school and becoming part of the student body is a huge leap from what it is like in America. In America I have a small group of friends that I am very close with, and random acquaintances, but here, I am the most popular person in school(Not including Jessica! She is at the same school and we are both about the same popularity). Everyone wants you to be their friend, and everyone wants to talk to you. Every day that I walk into my class, I get at least a dozen students saying "Good morning" to me. Students in the hallway will wave at me, and giggle when I wave back. When I walk into a classroom people will look and me and then whisper to their friends, which, usually, end up waving at me. Last week, Jessica and I went into a third year physics class(15 minutes late, because we could...

I hung out with Yui and Nagi today!

Hello! Today was very exciting! I went to Yulien and Jessica's school today for their cultural festival. I met a lot of their classmates and schoolmates. I took some pictures with some of the people I met. Higashi High school's ticket system was a little different from Ichinishi's ticket system. At Higashi, you buy sets of tickets (5 tickets in each set) each worth 50 yen (250 yen per set) (about $2.50) and pay whatever amount (in increments of 50 yen) specific to each booth. Higashi's tickets look like this, At Ichinishi, you buy a ticket for a specific snack, event and/or game. Each ticket looks different and prices vary. For example this ticket was for a tea ceremony. After the ぶんかさい (Cultural Festival) (ぶんか= Culture さい=festival)、I went to a mall across from Yulien and Jessica's school, called Lala Port. We went to many stores and bought many things ranging from humorous to cute to useful. At one store, I bought a Kappa plushy and 2 c...
