Slowly Coming To An End

Hello! Sydney here. It's been way, way too long since I've written anything. I've been really busy these past couple week s and haven't really had any time to just sit down and put all my thoughts into writing. So here I am now, 4 days before I end up going back to America. This post is going to be a bit long, so I hope you have a nice blanket, some popcorn, and maybe some nice piano music playing. Haha! Anyways I'll just begin. To begin with, this has been the hottest summer I have ever experienced before in my life. People in Japan have actually died because of the intense heat. It's honestly really crazy. Everywhere I go, I just immediately start sweating. I've really taken a liking to this drink called Pocari Sweat. It's this water that replenishes lost electrolytes and water in the body. It's perfect to keep hydrated with, and it tastes like Gatorade! Anyways, the heat meant that for the last week of school I wouldn't be able to participat...

I got sick :( but doctors in Japan are very nice:)

Hello! I got sick, but the bright side is, I was able to experience healthcare in another country! I woke up on Wednesday with a big headache and a stomachache. By the time I got home from school I threw up. I had a fever of 102.02°F (38.9°C). In the morning at 9 a.m. the next day, I went to a walk in clinic with two members of Spokane Nishinomiya Sister City Society and my host mom. The doctor was great! First he asked what happened, then we talked about Spokane and Nishinomiya's relationship. He was able to figure out was was wrong with me in probably two minutes. He gave me 4 types of medicines and instructions for each. I was surprised to see pills because I had heard that powder medicines were more popular, but at least one of the four medicines is a powder. The most surprising part, was his accuracy at predicting the time it would take for my symptoms to disappear. He told me my headache, fever and nausea would be gone by the next day and he was spot on! He said the r...
