In case you are planning a trip to Japan, make sure to bring and adapter. Sadly in my experience, the outlets did not have the third prong and I had to wait half a week to get an adapter :(
The adapter itself was hard to find, so make sure to bring one if you do not want to go hunting for one when your Japanese is not up to par.
