Hello!
I'm on day three of my Japan exchange and I'm ready for some more wind. It's super hot! It got hot enough that the teacher turned on the AC (the AC in my bedroom is now my best friend).
The first night we made takoyaki. I already really love takoyaki and learned I am really bad at making it. But it was still good.
The first day of school was rather boring as I sat in the library most of the day. So nothing really to report. We played volleyball in gym. I'm not sure if I prefer sitting in a hot room or running in a hot gym.
Afterwards we had dance practice which was fun. We are dancing to Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend" and "Good Time"
At least... I think I'm dancing to those songs...most of the students are too shy to speak in English and they tend to explain in Japanese. Despite studying for 4 years, I still don't understand. Hopefully I know what I'm doing.
For dinner we had Sukiyaki and raw egg. My stuffy nose is probably affecting how I taste things because I didn't taste the egg but everything else was d e l i c i o u s.
Today was regular school and I spent most of the day trying to understand what happened. Again, despite studying for 4 years, Japanese is hard.
I rode my bike home alone and got lost trying to find the entrance to my apartment. Not my proudest moment.
Today we had eggplant for dinner which was also yummy. Lots of things taste different in Japan but tomatoes are still mushy and bad. (I ate them anyways).
Now I'm watching TV with my host parents and I'll update more on the weekend when we go out!
またね!
