My First Day of School

こんにちは!(the は, is pronounced Wa in this greeting because it is lit.  As for this Day!)
Ko-N-Ni-Chi-Wa !
Good morning !

My first day of school was the best experience I have ever had at a school; it was also the most welcoming and opening experience I have ever had anywhere!

I was greeted everywhere I went. The teachers were genuinely engaged in every conversation I had with them, even the short ones, and were not trying to cut me short, so that they could go to where they were heading. I was never ignored when saying hello or good morning.

Everyone ran to me and tried having a conversation. it was usually in English because I was having some trouble making enough sentences to carry the conversation. I probably had more than 50 students introduce themselves to me and have a conversation. Every time a Japanese Student was able to get their point across, a little party was thrown; it is amazing to see their enthusiasm for speaking a foreign language! I cannot wait to expand my vocabulary to point where I can carry the conversation!

I have noticed that everyone, during any group activity, always show support for each other. During Tennis for example, even when you miss the ball, the team shouts ニス  カッチ (nice catch たぶん), and it is not sarcastic.

Japan takes the lead in human interactions by far when comparing student to student and student to teacher relations.

It has been very exciting to make new friends everyday!

じゃまたね!(See you later!)
